How it works

Three steps, and the first one happens on its own. No app, no passwords, and your contact details are never on the tag.

1 · Yours the moment you pay

QRTagz9:14 am

Set the note finders will see

Your tags are being printed — they're already registered to this email, so there's nothing to set up when they arrive.

Add a note or phone number for finders

Any time, and you can change it whenever you like.

Every tag in the pack carries your code, registered to your email at checkout. One link sets the note finders will see.

2 · They scan and write

qrtagz.com.au/t/K7RD3XQ2

You've found someone's gear

“Laptop inside — please message me”

Your message

Found your backpack at the bus stop on Adelaide St — I've left it with the driver.

Your phone or email (optional)

0400 123 456

Send to the owner

You'll never see their name, email or phone number.

It opens in their browser. No app, no sign-up, and none of your details anywhere on it.

3 · You get the email

QRTagz2:47 pm

Someone found something of yours

Someone scanned one of your QRTagz tags (code K7RD3XQ2) and left a message:

“Found your backpack at the bus stop on Adelaide St — I've left it with the driver.”

They left contact details: 0400 123 456

Your email and phone were not shown to them.

It lands in your inbox. From there it's your call — you ring them, on your terms.

They never get your details. A tag with your name and number written on it tells a stranger who you are and where you live. A QRTagz tag tells them nothing — it just gives them a box to write in. The message comes to you, and you decide whether to answer.

You can leave a note if you want to, something like “Site tools — call before you move them”. That note is the only thing a finder ever sees.

What people put them on

It's the same tag every time — what you stick it on is up to you.

What you get

10 tags — $39 inc GST, delivered ($3.90 a tag)

Enough to cover everything you'd actually be filthy about losing — the keys, the suitcase, the dog's collar, the good headphones, the drill. Every tag carries your one code, so whichever one gets scanned, the message comes to you.
